But how does a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant affect grid stability? Funded by T\u00dcB\u0130TAK (Project No: 122N700) and the Spanish Ministry of Science (MICIU), it is conducted by Inelso Energy in collaboration with Spain's CIEMAT-PSA and Turkey's GDZ Electricity Distribution Inc.<br \/><br \/><strong>The focus of the project<\/strong>: To develop a Digital Twin-based analytical tool for the integration of parabolic trough concentrated solar power (CSP) plants into electricity distribution networks.<\/p>\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4e36144 elementor-widget technology that creates an exact replica of a physical system in a virtual environment. <br \/><strong>Digital twins in the energy sector:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u2013 Simulates power plant performance in real time<br \/>\u2013 Tests different weather conditions and load scenarios<br \/>\u2013 Optimises maintenance planning<br \/>\u2013 Analyses the impact on grid stability in advance<br \/>\u2013 Supports economic optimisation decisions<\/p>\n<p>The DT framework developed in the DISOPED project was built using the Modelica modeling language and validated with Turkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Characteristics of the Manisa Soma Region selected as the pilot area:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u2013 Medium voltage line length: 971.3 km<br \/>\u2013 Energy distribution area: 1,383.82 km\u00b2<br \/>\u2013 Low voltage subscribers: 92,106<br \/>\u2013 Medium voltage subscribers: 2,200<\/p>\n<p>This region is considered strategically important for renewable energy transformation due to its high concentration of coal mining and heavy industrial facilities.<\/p>\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f6966ef elementor-widget elementor-widget-pxl_heading\" data-id=\"f6966ef\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-wow-delay=\"ms\">\n\t\t<p>At the core of the study is the TCP-100 parabolic trough collector facility at CIEMAT-PSA in Spain. The digital twin model for this facility is designed for two primary applications:<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>1. Virtual Power Plant Simulation<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">Simulates the behavior of renewable power plants that can replace fossil-fuel-based thermal power plants.<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>2. Thermal Grid Integration<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">It supplies energy to industrial consumers who use thermal energy instead of electrical energy via a virtual thermal network.<\/p><p>The system also provides real-time integration with SCADA systems, offering instantaneous decision support to plant operators.<\/p>\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-139bfcd elementor-widget elementor-widget-pxl_heading\" stations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u2705 Generate electricity even without sunlight<br \/>\u2705 Operate in sync with grid demand<br \/>\u2705 Minimize reserve power costs<br \/>\u2705 Compete with utility-scale solar and onshore wind in Europe<\/p>\n<p>Cost-benefit analyses in the DISOPED project are ongoing to determine minimum commercial price proposals
